TOP THREE TIPS I SHARED WITH MY BRIDES RECENTLY

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Being a stylist means chatting with my brides a lot from the moment our couples decide to let us be part of their big day. Yes, I do love it! I love knowing about what they've been up to and it's a great way to remind them that we're here to help.

Having the chit chats with them (usually brides) means I get asked a lot of questions. Sometimes usual questions about styling and sometimes the not-so-usual ones. Having said that, I thought I'd share with you some of the three tips I've shared with my brides the past two weeks that I think you might just love too!

1. It's ok to love more than one or two colors for your wedding.

Lots of brides show me photos of what they love that shows more than 2 colors and then they apologise as if they did something really wrong. I feel bad, of course, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with it! Girls, it's ok to have lots of colors in your colour scheme (I promise) and we as stylist will know exactly which hue of each color and how much of each colour should come out on the day itself.

2. Delegate well!

Just because you're the bride and groom doesn't mean you have to do everything. It should be the other way around actually. You know your family and friends best. If you don't have a professional to help you out on the day, sit down one afternoon and think of what your friends or family are good at doing and then delegate tasks to them accordingly. We love a Super Woman Bride but rest assured a Calm Radiant Bride is better. So lessen the stress....and delegate!

Our Ideal Wedding Timeline is the perfect starting point when planning your big day including sub tasks that you can easily delegate with.

3. Send photos of your bridal party to your HMUA.
I did this on my own wedding and have ever since been sharing this with everyone. Your HMUA is literally like an artist and they would appreciate to know what are the face shapes of the people they will be working on the day. This works best too if you have more than one HMUA then it will be easy for the lead make-up artist to delegate within her team.

Just got engaged and planning a wedding? We hope this post was helpful. We also have a FREE tool to help you pick the best stylist for your day. Bring this to your face to face meetings and you'll surely find the right one in no time!
