SAVE THE DATE WORDING ETIQUETTE

Friday, August 26, 2016

With plenty of brides sending out enquiries for next year and how we are in the midst of sending out invitations for our current brides as well. We thought it would be perfect for us to get in touch with one of our fave stationery designer Studio Silva.

Studio Silva, who also happened to design our new logo, is a Melbourne based design studio specialising in graphic design, and wedding and event stationery creating modern and luxe designs that bring brands and events to life.

When starting with your wedding invitation, save the dates usually comes to mind first. Save The Dates tells your guests what to expect for your wedding and gives that first impression to the style on the big day.

Here's some simple tips from Jess herself on what to include and how to design your Save The Dates:

Your save the date is the perfect way to introduce your guests to what to expect on your wedding day so it’s always important to nail it!

The first point to consider is whether or not you need a save the date. You only require one if you have guests travelling from interstate or overseas, if your wedding is over a long weekend or during a busy time of year, or if guests need to given a heads up to book accommodation.

Taking all of that into consideration, always include your names (of course!), date, location and ‘formal invitation to follow’. It’s also a great idea to include accommodation suggestions and/or ‘things to do’ for guests who are travelling.

Your wedding is special, you want it to be unique and you want your guests to have a wonderful time so remember that your stationery designer is there to help. Listen to there advice and always ask for suggestions!
