Vendor Feature: Derek Yee Video

Friday, December 07, 2012

It's finally Friday! And we're ending the week with another vendor interview, this time from a rising videographer in Manila.

Hi Derek! Welcome to Ruffles & Bells! Can you tell us how did you get started with creating wedding films?

I started creating wedding films back when I was in college. I am a Mass Communication student then, when I teamed up with my classmate photographer. We did several weddings from referrals as part time jobs. It's only two years ago when I started full time.

Your'e quite young! :) In one word, how would you describe your work?

I can describe my work as stylish.

What would, you say, is the most unforgettable experience you've had so far?

That would be when we were shooting a wedding and then suddenly heavy rain poured. Me and the rest of my team were all soaking wet. Thanks for the towels and plastic sheets, our cameras were saved!

When choosing videographers for their big day, what tip can you offer to soon-to-be-wed couples?

When choosing a videographer, the most important thing to consider is how well the couple's personalities jive with their videographer. They should be comfortable working with them so that the video shots will appear naturally.
