Paper Pomander Balls

Wednesday, April 06, 2011

Got a little something to share with you girlies today! A step by step guide on how you can make these lovely paper pomanders fit for any of  your posh events.

You'll be needing:
  • crepe or tissue paper (any colour of your choice)
  • scissors
  • glue gun & glue sticks
  • styrofoam balls
  • roll of tape
  • ruler or tape measure
  • ribbon

First things first! Cut the tissue paper into strips of 24 inches length & round 1.5 to 2 inches in width.
Begin rolling the streamer around 4-5 times then slowly loosen on the next rounds.

Hold the rose by the middle base then wind down & twist the paper at the same time so it looks like a real rose.

Once you're finish twisting, dot some glue on the end to keep the rose from loosening.
For roses with longer stems, cut off the excess stem just enough that the rose can sit flat on the ball.

Now its time to start placing the roses on the ball.  Just a tip, you can place a roll of tape to hold the ball in place so you won't have to worry about it rolling away while your handling those sticky sticks.

Generously put hot glue at the bottom of each rose then press them lightly on the ball. The rest as they say is glue magic!

Some more glue & rose pressing later...

For the finishing touch, hot glue a ribbon of your choice on top of the ball and voila! It's done! So versatile-y pretty!
